NOKIA — RECONNECTING PEOPLE
BRANDS
SERVICES
INSIGHT
People are quietly tired of endless notifications, endless scrolling, a screen that follows them into every meal and every meeting. For a growing group of successful, self-assured people, digital detox has become a need, and doing less has become the point. They already own a flagship smartphone — they want a second phone for the weekend, the dinner table, the holiday. Every second phone on the market felt like a downgrade. They didn't want less phone. They wanted less noise, without less personality.
POSITIONING
One non-negotiable principle: a Nokia feature phone must never look cheap. Nokia became the premium companion to the smartphone — not a cheaper alternative, but a deliberate choice for people who decide when the world can reach them.
CHALLENGE
The feature phone category had been written off as the budget option, the phone you buy when you can't afford a smartphone. Nokia had a different ambition: a feature phone priced alongside smartphones, aimed at people who could buy any phone they wanted. That meant overturning a deeply held assumption — why would anyone pay a smartphone price for a phone that does less?
IDEA
For decades, Nokia stood for Connecting People. In an always-on world, connection was no longer about being reachable; it was about being present. We turned "Connecting People" into "Reconnecting People" — craft, design and heritage replacing specs as the language of the brand, and disconnecting from the noise becoming a signature of taste and control. For one generation Nokia was their first phone; for the next, it's something rarer: a phone that lets you be present.
